Jonathan Hancock is an experienced writer whose books have been published around the world. He has written for leading publishers like Hodder, Pearson and Oxford University Press, as well as media organisations including Endemol, Wall to Wall and the BBC.
Jonathan’s interest in memory and learning skills led to the commissioning of his first book, ‘Jonathan Hancock’s Mindpower System’, in 1995. Since then he has published another eleven books, working alone and with co-authors and illustrators and covering diverse topics such as learning skills, parenting, secret codes and mathematics.
Jonathan’s varied career has given him opportunities to write for many different audiences. After gaining a First Class degree in English from the University of Oxford, he worked as a radio presenter and producer for fifteen years; co-wrote and presented the memory skills course for the Institute of Management; created the Junior Memory Championship for the Learning Skills Foundation; and for the last five years he has been a question-writer and expert consultant on Channel 4’s ‘Child Genius’.
A decade in education has also given Jonathan rich experience of writing accurate, authoritative and engaging articles, advertisements, letters and learning resources. While working as an Acting Headteacher his writing was published in ‘Headteacher Update’, ‘Innovate My School’ and ‘Education Today’.
Jonathan Hancock now provides freelance services as a writer, editor and publisher. He enjoys working with individuals on their personal projects as well as helping a wide range of organisations with their literary needs.
